We spaced the separators to minimize the waste of precious floor space while allowing the boards to be easily accessible. This vertical freestanding rack is our most cost friendly in the hand-made hardwood line, but we haven't skimped on features. All the dowels are foam covered with stylish endcaps, and there is also a high-density foam padding where the board rails rest on the rack.
