Wilco "At Least That's What You Said"

Lesson description: This solo says a lot. I think Jeff Tweedy wanted to show people that he could do loud guitar stuff as well as anyone else--that he don't need no sideman. I think he's right! It's a really profound statement, coming from the opening track of Wilco's "A Ghost is Born" album, the first album without Jay Bennett, and pre-Nels Cline era. I've read that Tweedy was really going through some stuff at the time of recording, and needed to exercise some demons via this lengthy and unpredictable improvisation. Loss, addiction, shame, rage, love--it's all in there! Please note, this is not a note-for-note exact replica.
