his Victorian Rutilated Quartz Navette Necklace dates to around 1840, when elongated navette forms were favored for their elegance and light-catching geometry. The pendant is crafted in 10k gold (tested), holding a luminous rutilated quartz cabochon whose golden needle-like inclusions seem to suspend sunlight within the stone. In the 19th century, quartz with these natural threads of rutile was prized as a “Venus hair stone,” thought to bring insight and creative clarity.
