My Egyptian Clarinet
I am offering a professionally tuned D to be able to play with others and with Tracks tuned in D like a Mideastern drone. I am also offering one tuned to itself to play alone. For quite some time I had been wondering what new instrument I could create that was really good. And here it is! Using a Tenor Sax mouthpiece and an easy to blow 1 1/2 tenor reed. I was amazed that such a thin piece of bamboo with a big sax head could sound so good and be so easy to play. Mysterious, Meditative, Relaxing and Deep. With reverb this is an amazing instrument. HOW TO: Moisten the reed with a few licks. Or remove it and pop it into the mouth to moisten. Once the reed is moist, it is easier to play and sounds better. To remove the reed loosen the ligature screws. And carefully place the reed into mouth to moisten. Then return reed and from the flat side make sure you see a thin halo of the mouthpiece over the reed. Then align ligature just under line of mouthpiece and gently tighten the 2 screws.
