Chinese Export Six Panel Lacquered Coromandel Screen Courtyard

Vibrant 20th century Chinese export coromandel screen depicting a walled pagoda courtyard. The lacquered panels are incised and decorated with colorful pigments of green, red, and white with parcel gilt accents. The panoramic scene features people engaged in the leisurely activities among a treed landscape with white cranes and white clouds over head. The scene is bordered by gilt dragons and each panel has scholars objects showcased in the bottom of each panel. The reverse side features flora and fauna with exotic birds. The panels are supported by square legs with patinated brass clad feet. Made in the Qing dynasty style with a rich lacquer finish having craquelure. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
