Large JEAN BAPTISTE CARPEAUX Bronze Sculpture, Hercules and the Nemean Lion

DETAILS This antique neoclassical statue depicts Hercules completing his first of twelve labors as directed by his cousin, King Eurystheus. Having killed the monster lion, he returned home with the pelt for the king. This is an interesting interpretation of that classical myth. It will make a major statement as a piece of art for an important setting in the home or garden. This was once part of a larger installation. Perhaps a former fountain element.
