Saffron Explorers

Location: CambodiaThis photograph was captured on a day out exploring Popokvil Waterfall in Bokor National Park, Cambodia. My plan was to get some long exposure shots of the falls, however, being the dry season, the waterfall was completely dried up. It wasn’t until I was leaving that I spotted these two young monks playing amongst the dried out rock bed where the waterfall would usually be. The juxtaposition of the soft monks against the rough and dark backdrop caught my eye. In an abstract way I felt it highlighted the warmness and carefree bond that the duo shared, exploring the rocky terrain in flip flops.
