12 pc Wedgwood Hand Painted English Flower Porcelain Plates by A.J. Birks

Presented is a 12 piece set of Wedgwood porcelain plates. The plates are decorated with double bands in luster around a gorgeous impressed border of flowers and other decorative elements. Each piece has a full-color hand-painted English flower in the center, done by the very talented A.J. Birks. The 12 plates each depict a different flower: the Wild Morning Glory, the Musk Mallow, the Coreopsis, the Harebell, the Wild Sunflower or Black Eyed Susan, the Fringed Gentain, the Indian Pink, the Golden Rod, the Marsh Marigold, the Wild Geranium, the Yellow Ladyslipper, and the Aster. The set was made around the first quarter of the 1900s. The dishes are impressed on the underside with WEDGWOOD and MADE IN ENGLAND. The undersides are also hand painted with C.M. 5524 for the pattern number and the English name and scientific name of the flower the particular plate depicts.
