1870s American Aesthetic Movement Sterling Silver Soup Punch Ladle Deep Bowl

Presented is a wonderful American Aesthetic movement soup or punch ladle, likely from the 1870s. This piece displays a deep bowl and long fancy handle. The front of the handle end displays beautiful cattails. The back of this decoration has a monogram, MED, in a fancy flowing script. The reverse of the handle is marked sterling. The piece is in great overall condition. There are a few dents in the ladle bowl. The gold wash has worn a bit, mostly on the exterior. There are no breaks, no splits, and no repairs.
