1917 Elegant Pair Tall Gorham Sterling Silver Candlesticks 14" A10918/1

Presented is an elegant pair of antique sterling silver tall candlesticks, made by Gorham and dated 1917. These candlesticks are made in a strikingly long tapered form, with round stepped base and flares beneath the socle and at waist above the base. Around the upper portion of each shaft is finely hand engraved decoration in the form of floral garlands, ribbons, and swags, nicely detailed and well done. The bobeches/wax drips are removable for ease of cleaning. Each candlestick has a monogram of AB engraved on the base in fancy script, but the design is such that the candlesticks could easily be displayed with this monogram facing a wall, etc. These candlesticks are well made from thick, heavy gauge sterling silver, with interior weighting for stability. These candlesticks are in great overall condition. One candlestick has a dent to the socle, as pointed out in the tenth photograph.
