Presented is a nice, English antique sterling silver gravy or sauce ladle made by Steven Adams of London in 1800. The piece is classically designed with a round-tipped handle. There is a worn monogram of the letter W or M on the front of the handle. The back of the handle is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter E for the year 1800 and a hallmark for the maker Steven Adams. This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits and no repairs. The ladle measures 6 3/4 inches long and weighs 40.8 grams or 1.4 ounces.
