Antique 1923 English Sterling Silver Decorative Rim Compote/Raised Dish or Bowl

Presented is an antique, English sterling silver compote, tazza or raised dish made in Birmingham in 1923. The rim of the bowl and the base are done in a decorative, openwork form. The piece has never been monogrammed. The underside of the bowl is marked with the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter y for the year 1923 and a maker's mark. This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is some minor surface wear commensurate with age and use but no damages and no repairs. The compote measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter and is 3 1/4 inches tall. Weight: 387 grams.
