Antique c1891 Whiting Sterling Silver Louis XV Asparagus Serving Fork

Presented is a fabulous Whiting sterling silver asparagus serving fork. This piece is done in the classical Louis XV pattern, which began production in 1891. This is a classic pattern with a scroll motif on the handles. The server has five wide tines, forming a flat blade with a gentle curve. Great for serving asparagus but can be used for a wide variety of serving purposes, however you prefer. The handle has a monogram of M or W. This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The fork is stamped with the Whiting maker's mark, sterling, a patent date of 1891, and the retail mark for J. Bolland. The server is about 10 inches long. This piece weighs 120.5 grams or 4.3 regular ounces. -jm
