Antique Gorham Medallion Sterling Silver Pie Server Crisp Pattern 9 1/2"

Presented is a great sterling silver pie server from Gorham. This piece is in the Medallion pattern, which was patented in 1864. The pattern displays a crisp Greek/ Roman warrior's head decoration at the top of the handle and handsome engravings on the serving end. The back of the handle is monogrammed JEG in a Gothic script. The reverse is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Gorham and the patent date. There is also a retailer mark for Starr & Marcus. This piece is in excellent overall condition. The pattern decorations are crisp and well-defined. There are no breaks and no repairs. Length: 9 1/2 inches Weight: 84 grams or 2.9 ounces -kc
