c1870s Fantastic Victorian 14k Gold Chain Necklace w/ Ornate Seed Pearl Clasp

Presented is a beautiful Victorian 14 karat gold chain necklace. This is an American piece, dating to around the 1860s-1880s. The chain is beautifully made by hand, all the links intricately soldered and put together with skillful craftsmanship that you really won't see in modern machine-made pieces. The chain has an ornate clasp, set with real natural seed pearls, done in a variety of contrasting gold finishes and colors. This piece is in great condition. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. This piece is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric acid and guarantee each part to be 14 karat gold. The necklace is about 21 3/4 inches long, not including the tongue of the clasp, which does not contribute to the overall length when worn. The necklace weighs 49.3 grams or 1.7 regular ounces. -jm
