c1915 Lovely 14k Gold Diamond & Synth Sapphire Bar Pin / Brooch
Presented is a beautiful 14 karat gold, diamond and sapphire bar pin or brooch. This piece dates to around the 1910s-1920s, and is of American origin. The pin is set with a row of four synthetic sapphires between two real diamonds. The synthetic sapphires are actually all one piece, though they have lines to make it look like four individual square cut stones. The diamonds are vibrant and dazzling, very attractive with the rich blue of the sapphires. The diamonds and synthetic sapphires are set in platinum so they really pop, while the rest of the pin is 14 karat yellow gold. The gold setting is fabulously hand engraved and has a lovely filigree openwork design. The pin has a clasp with safety latch. This piece is in great overall condition. The stones are well set. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs. The clasp is stamped plat, 14k and with a maker's mark of an M inside a diamond. The pin weighs 3.7 grams. -jm
