Fine Pillivuyt Paris Porcelain Medaille D'or Serving Dish / Platter
Presented is a superb quality Paris Porcelain oval serving platter. This piece is signed for C. H. Pillivuyt & Cie, a fine maker of Paris porcelain awarded the Gold Medal at the Paris Expo in 1867. The platter is white, decorated with gilding and four colors of enamel: red, lavender, light green, and darker green. The decoration is intricate and eye-catching, with a lot of visual appeal. The platter has a gilt and decorated monogram of GSB, done in ornate overlapping lettering. The underside is signed in red with Ch. Pillivuyt & Cie Paris Exp. 1867 Medaille D'or. This piece is in great overall condition. The gilding and enamel has some wear here and there, but is mostly still intact. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The dish measures about 12 ¼ by 8 ½ by 1 5/8 inches, LxWxH. -jm
