Presented is an interesting Mexican sterling silver pin and earrings set made during the 1950s. This set was made by Francisco Rivera. A very good quality Mexican maker, although I rarely see his work. All three of the full-bodied pieces are in the form of matching birds. The birds all have engraved feathers and a little swirl design over each of their beaks. The earrings are screw-back and the clasp on the pin has a safety catch. The backs are marked Mexico, sterling and they have a maker’s mark of the initials FR in a conjoined script for Francisco Rivera.  This set is in excellent condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits and no repairs.  The pin measures 1 5/8 inches long, each earring measures 1 1/4 inches long and the combined weight of all three pieces is 21.8 grams.
