Presented is a handsome pair of 14 karat gold cufflinks with engraved crests and mottos. These cufflinks were made by Larder and date to around the 1950s-1980s. The cufflinks are done in a classical oval form, with a rich Florentine finish on the face. Each cufflink is fabulously hand engraved with an intricate crest and Latin motto. One has a crest of a lion's head erased above a shield, with the motto Nec Temere Nec Timide, meaning 'Neither rashly nor timidly." The other cufflink has a crest of a bird on a helmet above a shield, with the motto Vive ut Vivas meaning 'Live so that you may live.' The cufflinks have sturdy toggle style backs. TheĀ  cufflinks are in great condition. The toggle backs have a good strong spring mechanism. The details of the engraved designs are nice and crisp. Each cufflink is stamped on the back with the maker's mark for Larder as well as 14k. Each cufflink face is about 3/4 of an inch by 5/8 of an inch. The total weight for the pair is 15.4 grams. -jm
