Presented is an antique, English sterling silver punch or soup ladle made by Robert, James and Josiah Williams of Exeter in 1849. This is a huge, heavy weight ladle done in a classic Fiddle pattern. The front of the handle has a finely engraved crest of a Griffin. The back of the handle is marked with the 3 towers for they city of Exeter, the lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter A for the year 1849, a duty mark of Queen Victoria’s head and a maker’s mark for Robert, James and Josiah Williams. This piece is in great condition, especially for its age. There is minimal surface wear and no damages or repairs. Length: 13 inches. Weight: 270 grams or 9.5 ounces.
