Pre Revolution French 1st Standard 950 Silver Openwork Bowl Basket Cobalt Liner
Presented is a superb quality French first standard silver and cobalt glass bowl or basket, dating to 1775-1781. This piece dates to before the French Revolution, making it highly collectible. The silver basket is very ornate, with acanthus-decorated open column designs and garlands of fruit and flowers around the sides. The basket is made in a sort of tri-corner form, and stands on three detailed hoof form feet. The glass liner is dark cobalt blue, for a beautiful contrast with the silver openwork of the silver basket. Possibly a sugar bowl, but of course it can be used however you like or simply displayed for its beauty and rarity. This piece is in excellent condition, particularly for its age. The glass liner is original and has only a couple of tiny fleabites to the rim, nothing significant or even visible when the liner is seated in the silver basket. The glass liner is original to the piece and fits perfectly. The silver has no splits, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removal
