Presented is a fantastic quality French porcelain wine cooler or champagne bucket, dating to the mid to late 1800s. The bucket is beautifully hand painted with colorful floral sprays, with bands of rich cobalt blue and eye catching gilt detailing. The handles are done in the shape of ram's heads, with gilt horns. On the front of the bucket is a large hand painted armorial crest of three gold fleur de lis against a cobalt blue shield, beneath a large crown. Hanging from the crown is a stylized gold chain bearing a medallion, with a white dove against a Maltese cross, the symbol of the Order of the Holy Spirit, a French chivalric order founded by Henry III, requiring three degrees of nobility for membership. This piece is in great condition. There is some wear to the gilding on the ram's head handles, and the tiniest amount of wear here and there to the gilt decoration otherwise. The painted décor and the crest are both in great shape. No chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. This
