Very Fine Quality Italian 18k Gold Hand Carved Cameo Brooch Pin Pendant

Presented is an exquisite, 18 karat deep yellow gold and hand carved shell cameo brooch/pin or pendant made in Italy. The center is securely bezel set with a thick, solid gold mounting. The center cameo is hand carved in the form of a lovely young woman with grapes and leaves in her hair. There is a hinged bale or loop on the top to hang the piece as a pendant. The clasp has a safety latch for added security. The back is marked Italy and 750 for 18 karat gold purity. This piece is in excellent overall condition. The upper right corner has a small hairline fracture but the cameo is still structurally sound and there is no movement in its setting. There are no other flaws and no repairs. The pin measures 7/8 of an inch by 1 1/4 inches and weighs 7.1 grams.
