Victorian 14k Gold Etruscan Revival Twisted Wire Hatpin

Offered in this sale is a fine American gold-topped hatpin in the Etruscan Revival style. The ball shaped gold top is covered with finely executed twisted wire applied decoration, and has the rich yellow color and matte "bloomed" finish associated with the best examples of 19th century Etruscan revival pieces. The pin itself is gold-filled. Marks: Unmarked, top tested and guaranteed 14K, the pin gold filled. Dimensions: Top diameter 12mm. Condition: Fair, the top with a small dent and two small cracks along what appears to be a seam. Without close inspection these defects are hard to notice.
