Fordhook Giant Swiss Chard Seeds

A Chard that is sure to inspire awe in the garden! This amazing variety of Swiss Chard was introduced in 1924 by W. Atlee Burpee and can grow to over 2 feet tall! But more than just a glorious curiosity, this chard produces broad, dark green leaves with bright white stems which are 2 ½” thick. Leaves can grow quite large, 24 to 28 inches in length, and are heavily crumpled. This variety is excellent for gardeners looking to produce mass amounts of high quality Swiss chard. Very cold tolerant, it can be planted as soon as the soil can be worked and resist bolting right through the heat of the summer.
