A pre-1920 heirloom and American classic. Very tasty, mild, and sweet; great cooked or raw. Bright yellow flesh. Improved Purple Top Rutabaga is best grown as a fall crop and harvested after the roots have gone through a few frost. Roots reach 4-5 inches wide and are globe-shaped. Excellent yield, flavor and disease resistance makes this crop a great choice for fall gardens.
