DROP NOSEBAND HELPS TO STABILIZE THE BIT A drop noseband is often used on young horses to help stabilize the bit. It also prevents the horse from opening its mouth to avoid contact with the bit. A drop noseband should never be fastened too tightly, as its purpose is not to close the mouth, but rather to help the young horse stabilize the bit. The noseband is padded throughout and rounds the cheekbones without causing chafing, and is placed far enough back to avoid being too close to the eyes. The strap that fastens under the bit is convex, allowing it to sit gently around the bit without pressing it up into the mouth. Mitt fram på nosgrimman finns den distinkta OCTA-symbolen.
