The Boat Lute Two stringed Lute Rendition of the South East Asian Two Stringed Lute Wooden Peg Tuners or Geared Tuners (your choice) Raised Frets Lead Time- 3 Months The Boat Lute: This is an instrument inspired by the Philippine boat lute from Mindanao Island. I was first introduce to this instrument when I lived in the Philippines among the Tigwahanon Manobo tribe. I was taught by an elderly man from the tribe how he makes it and from that point, I started creating it based off of his essential process. I would call this a fairly modern version of the ancient boat lute.  Basic Setup: I use local woods that I have in stock. I'm currently using poplar for the body but if it goes out of stock, I will use a different type of high quality instrument wood. It has a hollow body with a sound hole on the back. It's played like an acoustic guitar, played with a pick but you can also play it with finger picking. It has raised frets that plays in a diatonic scale. It has two strings, the top one is a drone and the bottom string is used to play the frets. It's an AMAZING instrument that I believe should live on! Let's not let this instrument get lost in history! Let it always be a living sound that glorifies the Creator! This instrument usually takes me 3 months to be finished. The instrument is about 4 feet long, 8 inches wide and 2/5 inches deep. Feel free to ask any questions about this instrument.
