If at first the candle struggles to stay lit, try, try again; fragrance can saturate the wick, but persistent lighting will release the excess. On the first burn, allow the wax to melt out to the edges of the jar; this will prevent tunneling on future burns, but may take several hours. Removing the charred wick before relighting also helps maintain a clean, smoke-free burn. Burn candles in a safe place- out of reach of children and pets, and away from flammable objects and drafts.
