Petit Verdot is a late-ripening, warm climate varietal that is most often blended into red Bordeaux wines. Rarely produced as a single-varietal, when done well this grape makes rich, intense, bold-yet-floral wines. The Abito Petit Verdot first impresses with an intense, black-red color. Dry and full-bodied, the lush dark fruit palate is beautifully accompanied by notes of sage and purple flowers, and a slightly gravelly minerality. As a relatively high tannin wine, this bottle does best with some air, so give it a try after 45 minutes or so. Food Ideas: Lamb biryani, portobello burger, Dal Makhani, braised beef mole tacos, hunter’s stew with braised venison and wild rice ABV: 14.3%
