Evesham Wood Pinot Noir 2023 (Willamette Valley, Oregon)
Evesham Wood has been championing organic farming in Willamette Valley since its foundation in 1986. Founder Russ Rainey believed in making authentic wines that are a true reflection of place, and became an advocate for non-irrigated grape growing, going on to co-found the Deep Roots Coalition. Now owned and operated by winemaker Erin Nuccio, who worked closely with Rainey, the Evesham Wood legacy still rings true today in every carefully crafted bottle. This Pinot Noir is elegant and vibrant, with an aromatic, slightly floral nose and a palate bursting with juicy red fruits, wild berries, and savory herbs. Velvety smooth texture and a lean, minerally backbone are punctuated by a balanced acidity, making this a wonderfully complex and versatile wine. Food Ideas: Roasted chicken and schmaltzy potatoes, cedar plank salmon, wild mushroom tart, creamed collard greens with smoky bacon ABV: 13%
