Josetta Saffirio Barbera d'Alba D.O.C. Superiore 2022 (Piedmont, Italy)

The Saffirio family’s first vines were planted in the early 1900s, from which they sold their grapes to other wineries. When Josetta took over the family farm in 1975, she began bottling her own estate wine, becoming an overnight success. Now owned by Josetta’s daughter Sara, the estate prioritizes responsible land management and organic farming. The solar powered winery is fully carbon neutral, and utilizes native plants to combat erosion and maintain soil health. With such great care taken from vine to bottle, it’s no surprise that this vivacious Barbera is absolutely delicious.
