Matic Wines 'Piccolo' Frankovka Sparkling Piquette NV (Stajerska, Slovenia)

Matija Žerjav is the 3rd generation winemaker at his family’s winery, and began managing the estate at only 24 years old. Young, motivated, and unafraid to take risks, Matic now cultivates 9 hectares of land organically and biodynamically, producing unique wines with these principles in mind. This piquette is a light, thirst-quenching bubbly made by adding water to grape pomace (leftover grape skins) and fermenting what’s left of the sugars, making for a delightful low-ABV wine. We get aromas of ripe grapefruit and a bright, zippy palate loaded with notes of citrus and crunchy red fruit. Perfect for anything you might do on a bright sunny day!
