Tantaka Txakoli Blanco 2022 (Arabako Txakolina, Spain)

Winemaker (also local priest and shepherd) Juanjo Tellaetxe makes this exceptional Txakoli on land his family has owned for generations, located in the village of Artomaña in the Ayala municipality of Álava. Juanjo’s goal is to produce “honest wines with a deep, local character, avoiding manipulation and masking,” and the result is an incredibly pure expression of 100% Hondarribi Zuri.  In the DO of Arabako they eschew the tiny, spritzy bubbles found in Txakoli from other regions, giving this wine a distinct elegance. Fresh and vibrant with notes of lemon zest and green apple, great minerality, and a touch of briny salinity.
