Yannick Pelletier 'Soif' Vin de France 2023 (Languedoc, France)

Yannick Pelletier has been running his 10 hectare estate in Saint Chinian since January 2004. The age of the vines ranges from 15 to 70 years old and the estate is certified organic, with Pelletier also utilizing biodynamic principles in both the vineyards and the winemaking process. His primary goal is to preserve the integrity of the grapes and wine, embracing methods such as the manual sorting of the grapes, carbonic maceration (aka using gravity to press the wine!), and the use of  indigenous yeasts. The ‘Soif’ is a zippy blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan. This light to medium bodied wine is soft and vibrant, with notes of fresh red berries, juicy acidity, a touch of minerality, and a little bit of natural wine funk. ABV: 11-14%
