The soil in this particular part of Burgenland, called "Seewinkel,” is a gravelly, quartz rich soil well-known for producing complex yet delicate white wines. In particular these vineyards are also the warmest and driest in Austria, allowing the Gruner grape to ripen fully without pesticides. Seeing only stainless steel in its vinification, the wine is vibrant and full of zippy acidity. We get spices and stone fruit on the nose, with a green apple tartness and lingering minerality on the finish. An excellent food wine! Food Ideas: asparagus and morel risotto, cauliflower au gratin, crispy fried artichoke hearts w/aioli, fish tacos w/purple cabbage slaw
