Jeep JL/ JT Protek Front Axle Disconnect Skid Plate, Black FAD CAD The Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU/JT front axle is manufactured with a CAD CenterAxle Disconnect (also called FAD). This feature is designed to improvefuel economy but does add a vulnerable load bearing casting to long sideof the JL/JLU/JT front axle tube. Castings are known to be delicate toimpact loads and being that impacts of the axle is invevitable off road,protection is a must. The EVO MFG JL/JT CAD adds much needed protection byretaining the partial factory skid plate and adding an addtional 3/16”steel full coverage skidplate not only protecting the FAD casting andwiring harness but also extending forward to protect the highlyvulnerable front steering stabilizer. The EVO MFG CAD/FAD Skid comesfully welded, powder coated black and ready to install with standardtools in a few simple minutes.
