DIMENSIONS 24" x 20" MEDIUM silkscreen and archival pigment print Limited edition of 35, 2016Accompanied by certificate of authenticity signed and numbered by the artist Jan-Ole Schiemann bases his surreal imagery on Max Fleischer’s classic 1930s cartoons, extracting fragments from the iconic drawings to create layered compositions. To create FigurA, Schiemann reversed this process by using a foundational drawing as the central composition and laying a tactile silkscreen layer on top of a digitally printed background. The final image explores dematerialization and rematerialization as it oscillates between image source and technique. Framing option is painted white or black wood with UV acrylic glass. Work is floated on a white mat with a 1" border. International customers are responsible for applicable duties and taxes.
