Working across a range of media, Greenbaum creates pieces centered on the everyday such as building materials, commercial design and construction sites. Floaters is part of a recent series focused on consumer detritus the artist encounters on his commute to the studio. Greenbaum digitally removes the commercial text from each cup, foregrounding the iconography in their design. Each mass produced cup is made unique in its destruction - the crumpled columns and statuettes in the cups are broken worlds in miniature.
