DIMENSIONS 18" x 15" MEDIUM archival pigment print Limited edition of 50, 2016 Accompanied by certificate of authenticity signed and numbered by the artist Based on a painting in Dustin Pevey's ongoing Meditation series, the imagery for Silk Road was constructed by the artist through a process of applying dots to canvas in a rhythmic motion, mimicking intricate floral lace patterning and reminding us of Sigmar Polke’s fabric paintings. Silk Road also references the online black market shut down by the FBI, where Pevey stumbled across a flower poster for sale on the Deep Web. This print edition blends Pevey’s interest in virtual currency and the cultural marketplace with his technical dexterity to create beautiful and complex imagery.
