Odile

Odile is the daughter of the evil sorcerer Rothbart and typically wears jet black in productions of the ballet. Her character has very quick movements and I think of her as a bit erratic, envious, and jealous.   Rothbart spells Odile to look like Odette in order to trick Prince Siegfried which is why the same ballerina dances both parts.  The choreography also calls for Odile to do 32 fouetté turns, making it one of the most difficult roles to dance!   In this colorway I started with a gray and added black elements.  In some of the bases (bulky & chainette) you can see some other colors pulling through, little bits of green or orange which is so fitting for the character.  Please note, true to Odile's character, this yarn feels a little less soft when working up.  I have worked up samples with it and after a soak it does regain softness (unlike Odile who in most versions of the story doesn't soften!) ***This is hand-dyed yarn and as such no skein will be exactly the same***   About
