Yates Apple Tree A small red apple that is very firm with dotted skin, has a juicy aromatic flesh with excellent taste. Besides cider making, it is good for applesauce as well as baking.   A heavy bearing apple and a good pollinator for most apples. The Yates apple tree is very easy to grow and a favorite for wildlife. This apple originated in Fayette County Georgia, and was often called Red Warrior in the south. Yates is an excellent pollinator but requires another variety of apple such as Arkansas Black to produce fruit.
