You know... nothing has changed my life quite like adding anti anxiety meds to my daily routine. I can point to all the horrible things in the world, the stress and weight of living under late stage capitalism, the crumbling "democracy" of the united states, and say, 'there is every reason for me to be anxious and depressed!' Yes, there is. And also, I have been to the bottom of those deep, dark depressive pits that I know I don't want to live in that headspace. The reality I am struggling with is that, although I do my best to stay informed and to make the best choices I can socially and politically in my daily life, I am limited in the amount of change I can enact in these large, overwhelming terrors. I do get to choose, to some degree, how much my mental state takes over my entire life. And I'm incredibly grateful for that. So, thank you zoloft.
