Academy Models 12465 P-40M/N WARHAWK 1:72
P-40M/N Warhawk - Academy 12465 Modified from the Curtiss P-36 Hawk, the P-40 Warhawk took to the skies in 1938. “Warhawk” was the US designation, while the British Commonwealth and Soviets used the “Tomahawk” designation for their P-40B and C variants and then the “Kittyhawk” designation for their P-40Ds and later variants. The P-40 served with the British in North Africa and the Middle East early in WWII. Although the aircraft lacked a 2-speed supercharged engine compared to Germany’s fighters at the time, the P-40 proved itself a mighty low-altitude fighter. The production life of the P-40 resulted in nearly 12,000 aircraft. This Academy kit with over 50 plastic parts faithfully recreates the P-40M or P-40N Warhawk fighter as seen later in the war in 1:72 scale. The fully assembled model is 13.2cm long and 4.8cm tall.
