The apple of the times! True to their name in color, the perfect blend of sweet-tart with a touch of effervescence. High sugar and acidity make them slow to brown( oxidize) when sliced. Great for snacking, on salads, freezing. Generally ALL Apple recipes! First apple with a trademark name, PL was discovered by Australian researcher, John Cripps, crossing Golden Delicious (surprise!) with Lady Williams. Introduced to USA in the late 1990s as a ‘managed’ variety, meaning only select growers can produce it.
