Vintage Terracotta Turpentine Sap Pot
The Vintage Terracotta Turpentine Sap Pot, also known as a Herty Pot, was designed in the early 1900s by chemist Charles Herty to safely collect pine resin for turpentine production without harming the trees. This antique pot has a versatile use for both indoor and outdoor displays, with an aged appearance that adds character. Whether holding water for fresh flowers or showcasing branches, the pot's porous material may result in seepage. The ribbed design and diamond-cut pattern around the rim give it a unique rustic appeal, highlighting its history of collecting pine resin. Pots are salvaged and have an ages patina with some hairlines, chips and weathering. Approximately 7 x 6 inches Pot A is shown with Green Ribbon. Pot B is shown with Dove Crinkle Ribbon. Pots do not include ribbon or accessories. Crinkle ribbon may be purchased here.
