This very special soft soap scoop that dates from the early to mid-19th century has the most delicious dark patina you could have ever hoped for and was hand carved out of one piece of wood. It exhibits great primitive form with a distinct long handle and the texture is smooth from years of use. The contents is included as pictured and this scoop is dressed in festive holiday attire! Animal fats and lye (leeched wood ashes) were boiled to render soap that was stored in a barrel and scooped out as needed using a scoop such as this one. I added some authentic lye soap that came out of an old Pennsylvania barn and used greens and berries as a holiday accent. Pi
