Old Farm Wire Basket Filled With Autumn Pleasantries
I found inspiration from this wire basket that came from a rural farm in Indiana and envisioned decorating it up for the autumn season using interesting gourds and other colorful botanicals. A large gourd was placed inside that almost covers the bottom of the basket and has a crooked neck shape which trails over the top edge in style. An interesting chocolate brown wooden heart pod was filled with four tiny pumpkins while two other unique pods enclosed with pale orange berries were tucked behind it. A root cellar apple was used inside to gain height while two dried onions were placed on top. A fluffy white cotton boil, a piece of an orange quince slice, beeswax corn, another smaller gourd and corn shucks were also incorporated inside the basket. Preserved flax stands tall off to the left accompanied by a wee piece of corn cob tied securely in place to the wire.
