Old Tart Tin Handmade Starburst Pattern Neat

With Autumn fast approaching, one of the things that comes to mind is colder weather that seems to promote more cooking and baking in our cozy warm kitchens. This next offering is not only appropriate for these chilly days but makes a great primitive display as well especially in the evening as the candles and wee pumpkins are included! I have had this tin in my collection for years and I purchased it because it was a hand ~ made piece that lends nice craftsmanship and ingenuity by the maker! I would date this around turn of the century to the 30's. There are no signs of solder on this tin. Instead the maker overlapped the sides of the tins and used a small rivet to attach the molds together. The same holds true for the handle. This wonderful tin is in good condition and has a slightly shiny surface on the inside mixed with some dark, almost pewter colored areas present throughout.
