Are you familiar with this type of rolling pin……if not you are not alone. These pins are hard to find and do not have the typical feature that we are used to seeing but alas another wonderful version has presented itself! This rolling pin has roots from Pennsylvania and is often referred to as a “Draalhus”. They are heavy duty and could have been used in a bakery because of the industrious form. I added an interesting towel that can be draped over the pin which is also included with this purchase! While this piece is vintage it has all of the illustrious characteristics of the earlier versions as far as the form is concerned. The pin itself was fashioned from maple and sports a nice, rich patina. The end pieces located on the right and left are a little lighter in color and may not be comprised of the same maple wood as shown in image 11 & 12.
